Little Shadow invites specialist perinatal practitioners to become a Little Shadow practitioner partner. As a practitioner partner you will be profiled on the Little Shadow website and be promoted across Little Shadow’s communication and marketing channels. Potential clients can connect and be referred to you directly from the Little Shadow website with a single click. Our vision is to build a community of practitioners that includes counsellors, antenatal support, doulas, lactation specialists, psychologists, physical therapists and others.

At Little Shadow we pride ourselves on upholding a set of values principles that provide quality assurance for all people looking to access support during the perinatal period. By becoming a Little Shadow practitioner partner, we hope you benefit from our reputation being extended to your own practice too.

We require all our practitioner partners to participate in a review process before becoming a practitioner partner to ensure our kaupapa or values align. This will include meeting with Little Shadow’s Executive Director (remotely or in person) and providing two references. All our partners must also have a current practicing certificate (if applicable) and be appropriately qualified.

Our practitioner partner listings function as a referral service with a “connect me” button. Potential clients complete a simple and confidential contact form to be referred to an individual practitioner or service. Practitioners will be automatically notified of any referrals to them. This process allows us to keep track of referrals made to each practitioner.

  • Your profile and services on a professional and credible website. GP’s, Whānau Āwhina Plunket, Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Aotearoa (PADA), Specialist Maternal Mental Health Services (DHB) and others frequently refer people to Little Shadow and our website for support.

  • An alternative to creating and maintaining your own website or social media channels.

  • Opportunities (for Counsellors) to participate in perinatal focused professional development sessions.


Plus Little Shadow will actively promote and market you as a practitioner

  • At the time of listing we will post a welcome to the Little Shadow community where we endorse your skills and competency and link to your profile via our social channels.

  • Further opportunities twice per year to boost profile or connect with the Little Shadow community via social media (announcements, news, commentary, Q&A, facebook live etc.)

  • Write an article, opinion piece or content for our blog which we will share across our social media and communication channels.

  • Opportunities to participate in and promote yourself at Little Shadow events.


Terms of Listing:

Basic Listing - $300 + gst for 12 months (Billed annually before listing commences)

This cost includes:

  • Little Shadow quality assurance/checks prior to listing.

  • Practitioner Listing: Name/Photo; Qualifications/Skills, Practitioner Statement; Rates; Client Testimonial/s; referral button to google form (we also receive a copy of the contact and can count referrals.)

  • Active promotion through our social media.


Our vetting process

At Little Shadow we pride ourselves on upholding a set of values principles that provide quality assurance for all people looking to access support during the perinatal period.

We ask that you review our Values Principles Document to ensure your practice aligns with our values and consider watching this video as an example of our tone of voice. You can then meet with our Executive Director; either in person or via zoom, to discuss your fit. Upon approval, the ED will discuss preparing your listing, and “launch” date.


Our referral process

Little Shadow will not display your contact information or other website link on your listing. Instead, all shared links will be to your listing on our website and within your profile listing there will be a “refer me to xx” call to action button that takes clients to a referral form.

Some basic information is gathered and you will receive an email notifying you that a client has requested to make contact. This will be displayed in a Google spreadsheet that you will have access to view, copy and download.


How we promote you on social media

At the time of listing - Social media welcome and introduction message shared to our Little Shadow Community with endorsement of your skills and competency. (This includes our closed facebook group, our public facebook group and instagram)

2 other opportunities each year to boost profile or connect with the LS community via social media (announcement/news; commentary; Q&A; facebook live etc)

Write an article, opinion piece or content for our blog (up to twice per year). eg. some titles might be, Strategies for Sleep, Thoughts on Anxiety, Getting started with counselling, Explanation of different types of therapy etc
